THE NHL 23 The team listened to presentation concerns related to the frequency of ice projections and the number of teams using them. Currently, the Avalanche, Lightning, Maple Leafs, Canucks, Hurricanes and Flyers have authentic on-ice projections, but they are rarely shown. In fact, they were only seen in about 1/3 of the games played with these teams.
With the next NHL 23 patch 1.2 scheduled to arrive tomorrow, these issues will be addressed by ensuring they are shown more often during pre-game. The patch will also include the national anthems of the previously mentioned teams during presentations, while other teams will have their national anthems presented more frequently.

Another patch will be released later this month to include on-ice projections based on the logos of the remaining 26 NHL teams.

- Improved gap control between defenders to defend against the rush in the middle of the ice
Goalkeepers
- Fixed an issue where users’ goalkeepers were underperforming on Arcade and Semi Pro difficulty.
- Fixed general goalie bug regarding jitter and animation selection
Strategies
- Fixed an issue with game strategies selected in-game not matching what is in the strategy menus.
PRESENTATION
- Fixed an issue with an end-of-game celebration that showed players sitting on the bench celebrating with the goalie instead of players who were on the ice at the end of the game.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the chosen game camera from appearing during gameplay
- Be a Pro – Fixed an issue that could result in the wrong camera being selected in some cutscenes.
- Fixed an infinite sync loop that could occur when a player left the game in OT
- Spengler Cup – Fixed an issue where the trophy would not hold correctly in players’ hands.
- Fixed an audio issue where national anthems would not play if the simulation occurred during the first period.
- Fixed a lighting issue in Be A Pro that could cause a flash of white light when charging.
- Stanley Cup Celebration – Fixed an issue that could cause a player to disappear during the sequence where the cup is passed from one player to another.
- Fixed an issue during the end of game celebration where the goalie could hold the stick with his trapper hand instead of his blocker’s hand.
- Fixed an audio issue where the crowd would not behave correctly when the anthem intro followed a Be-a-Pro scripted event.
- Fixed an issue where wipes were held for too long, resulting in missing portions of the goal replay.
- Fixed an issue with crowd panels not displaying the correct dynamic data (e.g. player names)
- Fixed game crash in three modes after scoring goal
- Fixed an audio issue in the main menu that caused the soundtrack to play below speech
- The long goal horn blast is now used for all teams during home shootout victories.
