NFL and MLB players team up with private equity to boost video game and card revenue

Professional football and baseball players have long made money from their likeness in video games and on trading cards. They are now partnering with a private equity firm in an unprecedented deal to grow those revenues and invest them.

The National Football League and Major League Baseball players’ associations have reached an agreement with RedBird Capital Partners to form a new company called OneTeam Partners LLC, which will be focused on managing player representations, the parties said .
