As part of its presentation as the exclusive “Thursday Night Football” home during the 2022 NFL season, Amazon tapped world-renowned composer Pinar Toprak to create a new tune to welcome fans to the show. The result was impactful to say the least.

The theme music caught the public’s attention when it was first broadcast before the first release on Amazon. In the song, Toprak leads a 70-piece orchestra to produce an arrangement that is both heroic and catchy, reminiscent of a superhero movie.

Toprak is an award-winning composer known for her work in the world of film and video games, so how did a collaboration with Amazon and the NFL come about?

Here’s how Toprak continues to lead the way with his latest composition.

How Amazon Partnered with a Pioneering Composer for the NFL Theme Song

In July, Prime Video announced that Toprak had been commissioned to create an original score and theme music for the cover of “Thursday Night Football.”

In the official statement, the streaming service said the anthem was recorded over two days in Nashville. As part of this process, Toprak worked closely with the “Thursday Night Football” production team with the goal of “creating a thrilling and inspiring score.”

Quotes from Toprak and Amazon describe the song using the word “timeless,” which is an important part of a theme that will likely accompany Amazon’s NFL broadcasts throughout the lifespan of the partnership, which will last at least 11 seasons.

Toprak’s creation is the first new theme music for an NFL package rights holder since John Williams composed the theme for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” in 2006.

Through this collaboration with Amazon, Toprak is now the first woman to compose the original theme music for an NFL media package.
