Nelly Korda does not play this week in Singapore, but she is still making history. The Junior event n ° 1 in the world, The Nelly Invitational, will offer something that no other AJGA has never – direct in a major championship.
With the announcement of Chevron as a new sponsor presenting a special exemption for the winner of Nelly in the first major of the LPGA season, the Chevron championship. The second edition of The Nelly will take place at the Golf Club de Bradenton concession in Florida, from May 1 to 4, and which means that this year’s champion will be exempt from Chevron 2026. Korda, of course, won the Chevron 2024 championship for its second major career title.
Although the Nelly is already an AJGA invitation, the domain will be even more reinforced in 2025 with invitations to the 10 best eligible actors who are perhaps not members of the AJGA and / or do not qualify before the event through the Rolex AJGA rankings. These players will be selected in the classification of the world amateur golf course.
And to ensure that no player is left due to financial barriers, Chevron will offer $ 2,000 travel allowances for entry fees, flights, hotels and rental cars, the highest allowances in AJGA history for a stroke. International players will receive additional $ 500.
Chevron signed for a three -year commitment.
“I am delighted to welcome Chevron to the Nelly Invitational,” Korda said in a statement. “With their support, we create an event that not only brings together some of the best girls from around the world, but also provides a platform to inspire and empower the next generation. Chevron’s investment helps us develop on the success of last year and to deepen this event.”
The chevron, previously known as the Dinah coast, has a long history of inviting the best amateurs. In 2014, there were 10 amateurs in the field. Jasmine Koo won low amateur honors last year after hitting the floating logo on the 18th hole and bounced on dry land, managing to close with Birdie.
