Nebraska men’s basketball (10-0, 1-0) faced its first Big Ten foe of the season Wednesday night, Wisconsin (7-3, 1-1). With home-court advantage, the Huskers tied two long-standing program records in a 90-60 victory over the Badgers.
This victory constitutes its best start to a season in school history, trailing the 1977-78 season with ten consecutive victories. The Huskers’ win also made it 14 in a row for the team, continuing a streak from last season that tied the program’s mark for longest winning streak in school history, set in the 1990-91 season.

Nebraska made sure both marks were reached Wednesday night, dominating for most of the game. After Wisconsin spent most of the first 10 minutes in the lead, the Huskers took the lead and went into the locker room on a 26-10 run. Nebraska’s lead never dipped below 14 from there, and it grew to 33 twice.
The Huskers shot sharply from the floor, going 33 of 61, including 11 of 30 from three-point range. Nebraska also shot 13 of 15 from the free throw line and outscored the Badgers in the paint 44-24. Wisconsin, meanwhile, shot 22-of-64, 7-of-32 and 9-of-11, respectively.
Mast Rienk had a double-double in the victory, scoring a game-high 17 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Braden Frager shot 4 of 10 from the floor, with 3 of 7 coming from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line and pulled down six rebounds.
Pryce Sandfort And Berke Büyüktuncel each had 14 points on the night, with Büyüktuncel hitting 4 of 5 from the floor and Sandfort 6 of 10. Büyüktuncel also shot a perfect 4 of 4 from the line. Sam Hoiberg scored 12 points, shooting 5 of 7 from the floor.

Nebraska hits the road for its next major test, traveling to No. 13 Illinois for a top-25 matchup Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT on Peacock.
