NBA veteran Patrick Beverley was arrested Friday in Texas on charges of assault, domestic violence and domestic battery. according to Fox 26 Houston and TMZ.
The charge is a third-degree felony, punishable by two to 10 years in prison in Texas. Beverley reportedly posted $40,000 bond and was scheduled to be released later Friday.

Details of what led to Beverley’s arrest are not yet known.
Beverley has not played in an NBA game since May 2, 2024, when he was with the Milwaukee Bucks. This game saw him involved in an altercation with Indiana Pacers fans in which he hit a woman in the head with a ball, asked another fan for the ball, then returned it to her in the final minutes of a one-sided match.
This incident led the NBA to suspend Beverley for four games.that he hasn’t served yet, and Pacers fans file a complaint against him with allegations of “physical pain,” emotional distress, “humiliation, embarrassment and anguish,” medical expenses and lost wages.
Beverley did not sign with an NBA team the following offseason, instead, landing with Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Basketball League. This term also ended ugly, the team suspended him in February and later parted ways.

The 37-year-old guard hasn’t officially retired, but no team has signed him for this season either. He’s been spending more time on his podcast, but also faced criticism this week due to comments that made him mad about Klay Thompson’s relationship with Megan Thee Stallion.
In this case, Beverley assumed that Megan had disrupted Thompson’s routine, following the age-old tactic of blaming a relationship for an athlete’s struggles while leaving aside that Thompson is 35, in the post-Achilles tear phase of his career, and on a team with much bigger problems than he does.
Thompson didn’t appreciate the attention, commenting on Instagram “How would you feel if I referred to your wives that way? @patbev21…Do better guys. Very disappointing.”
