Doncic was dismissed for a second technical fault after a manager said he was verbally abused by Slovenian.
The 26 -year -old insisted that he was responding to a fan of the court, but the decision was standing.
“It had nothing to do with the referee, so I didn’t really understand it,” said Doncic. “It was difficult, but you know it’s also on me. I can’t drop my team like that.”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has scored with 42 points for the Thunder, which has already obtained first place from the Western Conference.
Lakers need two victories of their three remaining games in the regular season to guarantee third place.
Just behind the Lakers in fourth, the Clippers, who won a fifth successive victory by beating the San Antonio Spurs 122-117.
