NBA results and rankings: Şengün surpasses Wembanyama, Dončić and Nurkić after triple-double

Alperen Şengün faced Victor Wembanyama in the Texas derby and won.

Led by the Turkish center, the Houston Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs 111-106 to move to 26-15, while the Spurs fell to 30-15.

Şengün shined with 20 points and 13 rebounds, finishing just one assist short of a triple-double. Wembanyama also recorded a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 assists.

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets on the road 115-107 behind a brilliant performance from Luka Dončić.

The Slovenian star scored 38 points, adding 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the standings. Lakers to a well-deserved victory against a shorthanded opponent Nuggets the team is still awaiting the return of Nikola Jokić.

In Salt Lake City, the Utah Jazz welcomed the Minnesota Timberwolves without Lauri Markkanen, but Keyonte George and Jusuf Nurkić led the way in a 127-122 victory.

George exploded with 43 points, while Nurkić had a triple-double with 16 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. Rudy Gobert finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota.
