Two weeks later, we still don’t have many answers about what’s happening at the start of the season. We had a great team that beat a good team by 50. We have the unflappable Memphis Grizzlies, who win no matter who they put on the field, starting the season 0-5. THE Miami heat are once again slow starters, and we’re still trying to figure out who can sustain success.
Instead of overreacting or overanalyzing a handful of games, I thought we could highlight a player we like so far for each team. I’ll try to stay away from the stars, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Some of these choices will be real hipster stuff. But I’m not trying to make this look like a swimsuit selection for Bonnaroo or Coachella.
So let’s dive into the irrefutable rankings and a player we like so far to keep things positive. Don’t worry, we’ll tear down teams and players as the year progresses.
Reminder: The Power Rankings do not just rank the 30 teams. We divide these teams into tiers, which teams can enter and exit:
No tanking yet, but maybe one day. They haven’t started tanking yet, but it’s on the table this season.
Looking to make the Play-In – They have rebuilt/retooled and believe they can place in the top 10 in their respective conference.
Play-In or Better Tournament Teams – These should be in the mix unless something disastrous happens.
Playoff Teams – You probably won’t have to worry about advancing to the Play-In tournament.
On the brink of competition – A piece of us is away from believing they can win the title.
