The Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch, has unveiled the much-anticipated program for Law Week 2023, which will hold from June 9 to 16, 2023. The event aims to foster engagement and dialogue among legal professionals, all by addressing key questions in the legal field. .
The theme of NBA Ikeja Law Week is: “The Nigerian Lawyer: Earning Wealth and Staying Fit in Tough Times”.
Friday June 9, 2023:
Law Week will begin with the official opening ceremony and press conference at the Bar Centre. A brainstorming session with young lawyers will address the theme of “Young Nigerian lawyers: prospects and challenges”.
A Jumat prayer session will take place.
Tuesday June 13, 2023:
Morning session will focus on empowerment “Women lawyers in legal practice: overcoming the limits of gender bias and stereotypes”. The venue for this enriching discussion will be the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja.
During the afternoon session, the crucial topic of “Mental and physical health of lawyers” will be explored at the Bar Centre, highlighting the well-being of legal practitioners.
Wednesday June 14, 2023:
The legal clinic, organized in collaboration with the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency, will offer legal assistance and advice in strategic locations in Ikeja, including Ikeja Under Bridge, Ogba and Ojota.
6:00 p.m.: The Variety Night, hosted by the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, will entertain attendees at the Bar Center with captivating performances.
Thursday June 15, 2023:
The morning session will commemorate the Alao Aka Bashorun Memorial Lecture at the Bar Centre. Esteemed speakers, Professor Chidi Odinkalu and Oumide Fusika, SAN, will deliver insightful lectures on a yet to be announced topic.
The afternoon session will look at the importance of “proper billing, growing clientele and financial planning for lawyers” at the Bar Centre, providing practical tips and strategies.
Friday June 16, 2023:
Law Week will conclude with a delicious dinner at THE CITADELLE, located at 30, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
