
IT HAS been announced that NBA champion Nikola Topic is being treated for testicular cancer.
The 20 year old Oklahoma City Thunder the leader will undergo chemotherapy.
It was revealed earlier this month that Topic had undergone testicular surgery and would be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks.
Unfortunately, Topic was diagnosed with testicular cancer, according to Thunder general manager Sam Presti.
Presti told reporters that Topic’s doctors were “extremely positive” about his long-term prospects and that he had started chemotherapy, according to The Oklahoman.
He added that the subject had no timetable for return.
Presti noted that testicular cancer is the most curable form of cancer in men.
“(The subject) did not want to make this information public until he started the actual treatments, which he did,” Presti said, according to Sports Illustrated. “He’s here, he’s training, he’s training through this whole process.
Presti said he and the team prioritize Topic’s health above all else.
“It’s a team of people first, players second. People go through different things in their lives and careers. That’s the thing that’s in front of him right now,” he added. The thread of thunder.

“I think every one of his teammates will tell you that.
“He is equipped from a maturity standpoint more than anyone I know at that age to look at this and approach it with the type of mentality required.

Second-year player Topic was expected to become the Thunder’s backup point guard before undergoing the testicular procedure.
Ajay Mitchell replaced 2024-25 MVP and Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander this season.
Subject was drafted by the Thunder with the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
He missed his freshman season with a knee problem before the draft.
Topic would receive a championship ring thanks to Oklahoma City’s playoff run.
He played for the Thunder in Summer League.
The topic also came up during the preseason before undergo your testicular procedure.
