The new USA vs. World format featured in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Three teams played a primarily competitive mini-tournament that saw Team USA Stars (made up of young American All-Stars) defeat Team USA Stripes (made up of more established Americans) in the championship game. Anthony Edwards led the USA Stars team and was named the game’s MVP.
The new format featured four 12-minute matches. The first three matches were all closely contested. Edwards credited Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama of Team World for setting the tone in Game 1, and the first two games featured game-winning 3-pointers.
The United States Stars won the first game against Team World in overtime as Scottie Barnes hit the game-winning triple. De’Aaron Fox gave Team USA Stripes a blowout victory in the second game of the night, as his 3 gave the veteran Americans a victory over their younger counterparts.
The USA Stripes also won the third game of the night, with Kawhi Leonard having the most dominant 12-minute stretch of the game. The Clippers star scored 31 points in this game, including 11 in a row, in front of his home crowd at the Intuit Dome. His teammates scored 17 points in the victory. Wembanyama had a chance to tie this game at the buzzer, but he missed a 3 as time expired.
The USA Stars team ran away from the USA Stripes in the title game, winning by 26 points. All other games were decided by one possession.
