NASCAR’s business model could change dramatically by 2025. A new television deal is expected to be announced and teams have been in talks with NASCAR for several years in an effort to get a larger share of television revenue.
NASCAR is currently working on a fix for its short track package. It’s something they’ve been working on since the Next Gen car launched in 2022.
At the end of the 2023 season, NASCAR seemed open to the idea of adding horsepower. However, the sports president has now reduced hopes of the idea being implemented.
TV offer
A TV contract will be in play for 2025. The contracts with the FOX and NBC box will expire after the 2024 season.
Phelps noted that NBC and FOX are expected to return. The new deal is expected to be announced soon.
Additionally, Phelps hinted that a third TV partner would join the program. NASCAR said they were trying to sell a 10-race contract to a new streaming partner.

“If you ask a driver what will solve the problem, they will always say: ‘Give me more power.’ It’s a thing.
“I’m not a pilot, but I’ve listened to enough pilots and this is their solution. So the question is, is this really true? I don’t know.”
“I think we’re also looking at some things equipment-wise. Some things change.
