THE Nascar Race Weekend has Homestead-Miami Speedway Continue as planned despite fire fires that burned more than 24,000 acres in the region, the city of Homestead, Florida, published Thursday in a statement.
The fire is contained at 30%, according to the city declaration, and is visible on the race track. US Highway 1, one of the two main highways near the track, is closed for a section due to visibility problems, and a health notice has been issued for the region.

Nascar Racing is expected to start Homestead-Miami Speedway Friday with the Craftsman Truck Series series and qualify in the afternoon before a 200-mile race on Friday evening.
The fire has been visible since Tuesday, the city published since during periodic updates.
Fox commentator on Nascar, Jamie Little, who will be on the call for the race of the truck series on Friday, tweeted Thursday that she was to change hotels due to fires and visibility near the track.

Nascar adjusted Homestead-Miami’s place on the calendar this season after a few seasons as a playoff race in October. Homestead-Miami was the long-standing home of the championship weekend in November before a change in 2020.
Homestead-Miami Speedway is located in the county of South Miami-Dade, Florida, about 30 miles south of the city center of Miami.
