The dispute between NASCAR and a pair of racing teams becomes uglier, NASCAR depositing a counter-combination against Michael Jordan’s 23XI race and motor sport in the front row.
The teams continued Nascar in October, accusing the director body of having contained equitable competition and violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act concerning the charter agreements.
Now, several points of sale reported on Wednesday that Nascar resumes.
The counter-combination of NASCAR is against first-row car sports, 23XI Racing and Curtis Polk, an adviser in Jordan who is a co-owner of the team. Nascar affirms in his trial, as reported by The Athletic, that Polk orchestrated “a program to put pressure on Nascar to accept their collusive terms, including engaging in media campaigns, interfering with the negotiations of the Nascar dissemination agreement, threatening the boycott of NASCAR events and engaging in a boycott group The Nascar team ”.
Nascar said the teams represent “an illegal cartel”.
Polk representatives and racing teams have not returned any requests for athletics comments.
The dispute arises from negotiations between NASCAR and 15 teams on the extension of the contract for the charter system, which offers teams specific financial guarantees and starting positions in each race in the NASCAR series.
In the trial, Nascar said he had made his final offer which would have given the teams a money record, but 23Xi Racing and the first Motorsports line did not sign. However, the teams participate in the Cup series under a court order while the trial is pending.
In the complaint, NASCAR requests damage and also requests 23XI and motor sport at the forefront to lose their guaranteed starting positions while the dispute takes place.
23XI Racing, also co -owner by Denny Hamlin, Toyotas races driven by Riley Herbst, Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace.
First row Motorsports, under the owner Bob Jenkins, has Fords piloted by Todd Gilliland, Noah Gragson and Zane Smith.
After three races of the season, Reddick is third and Wallace sixth in the pilot points.
