THE Georgia Bulldogs will be without several key contributors in the Sugar Bowl against the Notre Dame fighting the Irish. A combination of transfers, suspensions and injuries means more than 10 Georgia Bulldogs will miss the Sugar Bowl.
Georgia is notably without starting quarterback Carson Beck against Notre Dame. In place of Beck, the Bulldogs will replace quarterback Gunner Stocktonwho started in the second half of the SEC Championship Game, but has just 51 career pass attempts.
Football Injuries in Georgia
Quarterback Carson Beck
Georgia Quarterback Carson Beck underwent surgery on his elbow and is out for the Sugar Bowl and the remainder of Georgia’s season. Beck will cheer on the Bulldogs from the sidelines.

Punter Brett Thorson
Georgia’s star punter Brett Thorson is out for the year due to a knee injury he suffered during the SEC Championship. Drew Miller, freshman should play in place of Thorson.

Running back Roderick Robinson
Robinson suffered a lower body injury in practice and is not expected to play in the Sugar Bowl. Robinson has only appeared in two games against Georgia this season.
Status: Doubtful
Running back Branson Robinson
Robinson was not at Georgia’s practice before the Sugar Bowl and reportedly suffered a knee setback. Robinson hasn’t played in several months. With Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson out, Georgia will rely on running backs Trevor Etienne, Nate Frazier and Cash Jones.

Defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye
Georgia freshman defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, a former elite recruit, hasn’t played in a long time since undergoing leg surgery. Jonah-Ajonye is out for the year.
Status: Out for the season
Suspension: wide receiver Colbie Young
Georgia receiver Colbie Young has been suspended indefinitely since the Auburn game in early October. Young has 11 receptions, 149 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Transfers that are not with Georgia
Georgia has nine players entered the transfer portal since the SEC championship game. Two of these players (David Daniel-Sisavanh and Rara Thomas) from the portal did not make the team during the regular season. The other seven players did not practice and are expected to miss the Sugar Bowl.
Most notably, cornerback Julian Humphrey and defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett are both expected to miss the Notre Dame game and the playoffs. Humphrey and Jarrett are both part of UGA’s defensive rotation.
