DEVELOPER NOTES
Gameplay Balance Change – Pitch Accuracy Adjustment
We’ve heard the frustrations around pitches and perfect contributions not feeling as rewarding as we’d like, so we’ve made the following adjustments:
- Reduced frequency of throws landing directly on the edge of the Perfect Accuracy Region (PAR). This benefits all pitch interfaces.
- Fixed some known cases where throws could land outside of the Perfect Accuracy Region (PAR).
- Adjusted artwork where the Perfect Precision Region (PAR) was not displaying at actual size on occasion.
- Removed display of Perfect Precision Region (PAR) after stepping during slidestepping, as there is a precision penalty that is not taken into account in the initial PAR.
It is important to note that the main advantage of using Pinpoint Pitching over other interfaces is that it generates the smallest PAR, not necessarily that it is the most accurate within that PAR. However, these changes will help improve pitch accuracy across the board for all pitch interfaces, and we expect these changes to be more widespread in Pinpoint Pitching.
We want pitching to be more rewarding, and these changes will result in an improved experience with all pitching interfaces.
Thanks for the clips, examples and communication. We will continue to monitor the status via streams, telemetry, and playtesting as this game update goes live.
Changed Live Content Balance – Reduced player requirements for Live Series Captains
Live Series Captains play an important role in the Diamond Dynasty landscape, providing incentive to complete collections, allowing themed teams to be easily accessible, and adding utility to Live Series cards.
We’ve found that these captains aren’t used as often as we’d like, even on theme teams. So we’ve reduced the team building requirements for each level of each Live Series captain by one.
For example, previous captains would need 5 players for their level 1 boost; now they only need 4. We hope this will increase the usefulness of these captains and make Live Series cards more viable in ranked play.
We will continue to monitor and balance Captain Cards in the same manner throughout the year.
