Edge rusher Mike Green is joining the NFL after a big 2024 season at Marshall.
Green had 17 sacks for the Thundering Herd this season, which was the most for any player in the Football Bowl Subdivision. He announced his intention to forgo his remaining eligibility and head to the NFL on Friday.
Green also led the nation with 23 tackles for loss and had 84 tackles, three forced fumbles, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery to help his team win the Sun Belt Conference.
It was an exceptional season for Green. He had 4.5 sacks for Marshall during the 2023 season and began his college career playing in six games for Virginia during the 2021 season.
Given the emphasis on pass rushing in the NFL, Green’s exploits in 2024 have likely caught the attention of a number of teams who will be interested to see if he can have the same impact for them in 2025 and beyond.
