“After 13 years as head coach and 22 years on staff, I have made the difficult decision to leave this position,” Czerwon said in a statement. “Serving as the head football coach at Muskegon Catholic has been the most meaningful thing I have done in my professional career. I will always be grateful for the opportunity this school has given me and for the level of Catholic excellence it represents. I am deeply proud to have been able to help carry on a tradition that was established before me and will continue deep into the future.”
None of this would have been possible without the dedication shown over the years by players, parents, other coaches, administrators and fans. I appreciate the help I have received from the extended MCC family over the years. Above all, I am most proud of the men that so many of the people I have coached have become.
We created memories and accomplished things that they will carry with them forever.
Czerwon is a Muskegon Catholic alum who played quarterback for the Crusaders from 1992-94 under a longtime head coach. Mike Holmeswho led the team for 25 seasons and won six state championships in Michigan high school football.
