Michigan fired head football coach Sherrone Moore, according to multiple reports, for cause. The news was first reported by ESPNbut was followed by a statement from Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel.
According to the release, Moore was fired after an investigation revealed he had an inappropriate relationship with a Michigan staff member, which was a violation of university policy. Moore succeeded former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who left the Wolverines for the NFL amid an advanced sign-stealing investigation. Harbaugh ultimately received 10 years of vindication.

Moore himself was suspended for two games following NCAA sanctions stemming from the advanced sign-stealing scandal, serving time earlier this year. Moore was 16-8 at Michigan, including 2-1 against Ohio State.
This is a developing story, but we’ll have more when it becomes available.
