February 11 – Bemidji – The female tennis recruit by Bemidji, Mia Leshem, was appointed player of the NSIC of the week on Tuesday afternoon.
Leshem won his first award for the conference and is the first student of women’s female tennis-athlete to be recognized as a player of the League week since Sophie Groen on February 8, 2022.
During his first college games, Leshem went 3-0 in single and 2-1 in doubles while the Bearvers opened their 2025 season against Minnesota Crookston, St. Scholastica and Minnesota Duluth.
She started the week by beating Daniela de Lucas Rivera de l’UMC 4-3 in the singles n ° 1, then beat Katia Bartels de CSS (6-3, 6-2) and Charley Chaney from UMD (6-2, 6-0) Singles n ° 2.
Associated with Groen in double action, the duo went 2-1, beating Luana da Silva and Isabelle Simon de UMD (6-1) and Julia Maier and Paula Sendele de CSS (6-3).
Leshem and the Beavers are back in action from February 22 to 23 when they start the NSIC game against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.
