THE Dishes are recruiting a left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell on a deal with a minor league, according to a report Monday by Robert Murray of FanSided.
Waddell, 30, last pitched in MLB during the 2021 season as a reliever with the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals. He opened the 2022 season with the Cardinals’ Triple-A Memphis Redbirds before being released in July.
His next three years saw him play in the KBO and CPBL as a starter. Waddell played for the KBO’s Doosan Bears throughout the 2022 and 2023-24 seasons, with a stint with the CPBL’s Rakuten Monkeys sandwiched in the first half of the 2023 campaign.
In 2024, Waddell went 7-4 with a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 over 75 IP for the Bears.
Waddell made his MLB debut on August 14, 2020 with the Pirates. Pittsburgh selected him out of Virginia with the No. 157 pick in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft.
