THE Dishes made a few more minor league signings this offseason.
Joey MenesesThe first baseman/outfielder who played for the Washington Nationals in 2024, has reportedly signed a deal with the Mets, according to Jon Heyman of the Post.
The 32-year-old has appeared in 76 games for the Nationals in 2024, where he slashed .231/.291/.302. He hit three homers and drove in 42 runs while posting an OPS of .593. It was a tough year for Meneses after slashing .275/.321/.401 with 13 homers and 89 RBIs in 2023. He also played in 154 games for Washington that season.
Meneses has played most of his major league career at first base (109 games), but has some experience in the outfield. He started one game in right field in 2023 but 25 games in right field and left field in 2022.
The second signature is for the right-hander Hobie Harris, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
Harris, 31, spent 2024 in the Twins’ Triple-A system where he compiled a 4-6 record and a 6.79 ERA. However, he posted a 10.3 K/9 in his 44 games last season.
Harris has just 16 appearances under his belt in the majors, all with the Nationals in 2023. During that span, he has pitched to a 5.12 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP.
