This week on Match Point Canada, Ben and Mike welcome one of the most recognizable and accomplished coaches of all time, Rick Macci, who has worked with Maria Sharapova, Jennifer Capriati, Andy Roddick and of course Serena and Venus Williams.
Macci continues to be heavily involved in the sport at seventy, running the highly successful Rick Macci Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, where he is on the court sharing his wisdom with young tennis players daily.
Macci shares his views on Novak Djokovic’s continued brilliance following his record seventh ATP Finals title in Turin and also discusses the evolution of Jannik Sinner, who had another incredible tournament to close his season.
Of course, the subject of the Oscar-winning film King Richard is also brought up and Macci explains how this matches his real-life experience coaching young Serena and Venus and helping them put together the tools that would lead them to become all-time legends of the sport.
Later in the episode, Ben and Mike preview the upcoming Davis Cup Final in Malaga where Team Canada will try to repeat its championship title And follow in the footsteps of our recent Billie Jean King Cup winning team.
