In addition to adding two assists in a 3-0 win over NorthWood in the regional semifinals, Pankiewicz scored both of his team’s goals in a 2-1 victory over West Lafayette in the regional title game on Saturday .

Other nominees

Bethany Christian boys soccer junior Jacoby Reinhardt

The Bruins goaltender had a big week. In the regional semifinals against Westview, he made five saves in regulation and then two more on penalties to help Bethany beat the Warriors, 1-1 (3-1 PK). Reinhardt followed that up by recording six saves in a 1-0 win over Wheeler on Saturday, securing the Bruins their first Class 1A regional championship since 2012.

Isabella Freese, LaPorte volleyball senior

Freese reached 1,000 career digs in the Slicers’ sectional championship game against Mishawaka on Saturday night. Over the course of three (nine-set) sectional matches, Freese had 15 digs, 10 assists and two service aces, helping LaPorte win a Class 4A sectional crown.

Mishawaka Marian boys soccer senior Reid Gillis
