Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been closely monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich in recent months. However, a transfer for the player almost materialized last summer.
In addition to Kimmich, Barcelona would be followed Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah as they aim to strengthen their midfield and defense ahead of the 2025 season.
Journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl recently reported This Bayern Munich to have abandoned to persuade Kimmich to take a pay cut from his current annual salary of 20 million euros.
With his contract expiring next year and interest from major clubs growing, it seems unlikely that Kimmich will agree to reduced terms.

At the same time, Bild revealed that Real Madrid to have has begun initial talks with Kimmich regarding a potential summer transfer once his contract with Bayern expires.
The German outlet also noted in a separate report This Real Madrid considers Kimmich as a potential successor to Toni Kroos. The 29-year-old Germany international is in the final year of his deal with Bayern and is yet to reach an agreement on a renewal despite ongoing negotiations.
Kimmich is said to be focused on staying at Bayern and recently met with club officials, but he has not made a final decision.
