What USC fans have known for some time is now official: Makai Lemon is the best receiver in college football. On Friday, Lemon was officially awarded the Biletnikoff Prizeawarded annually to the nation’s top pass catcher.
Lemon finished the regular season with 79 receptions for 1,156 yards, the most of any Power Four receiver. He also caught 11 touchdown passes, while adding two rushing scores and a thrown touchdown pass for good measure.

Lemon becomes the second Trojan to win this award. The other USC player to earn the honor was Marqise Lee in 2012.
After arriving at USC as a highly touted recruit in the class of 2023, Lemon saw playing time as a reserve in his true freshman year before becoming a starter at wide receiver in 2024. It wasn’t until this season, however, that he truly broke out, putting together one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in USC’s storied history at the position.
Now he is officially the best receiver in the country.
