Wisconsin launched its transfer portal cycle in 2025 with a Engagement of the Guard of Virginie Andrew Rohde THURSDAY.
Rohde joins badgers for its last eligibility season. Brookfield’s native Wisconsin has spent the last two seasons as a starter in Virginia. He offered a strong season for the 2024-25 RidersStarting 26 of the 30 games and on average 30.9 minutes, 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. This production included a shooting clip of 43.2% of the soil and a formidable 41% out of 3.

Rohde was an old out -of -state in the state at Brookfield Central High School, with an average of 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists as a senior. He then excelled in the first year in St. Thomas in 2022-2010, with an average of 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. These deadlines earned him the first year of the year of the Summit League. Rohde was then transferred to Virginia before the 2023-24 season.
The 6 -feet 6 -inch goalkeeper will not be the last of the Wisconsin transfer of this offseason. The team A remaining needs At Barging Wing, starting forward and bench forward. But as his commitment is the first of the team’s off -season, he requires take -out dishes:
This counts as a recruitment in the state

The university basketball fabric continues to change each passing season. Programs like Wisconsin, for example, were forced to join the transfer cycle from year to year. Of course, Greg Gard excelled in the region, clearly seen in the addition by John Tonje’s program, last season.

With almost 40% of the list that puts each off -season, Rohde’s commitment should become a new form of state recruitment. The native of Wisconsin began his career in St. Thomas before transferring to Virginia. Although badgers have not offered it to get out of the school, to fill the state transfers list should achieve the same culture construction objective. The program was a great recent success by doing so. Max Klesmit (Neenah, Wisconsin) and Kamari McGee (Racine, Wisconsin) each joined the badgers after years elsewhere – Wofford and Uw -Green Bay, respectively. The two were clear culture adjustments and led the team’s success in recent seasons.
I would seek Gard and its staff to prioritize transfers in the state over the years. The program is always at its best with players who open the way.
Rohde fits perfectly into the range

There should be no questions about how Rohde can contribute to the programming of the Wisconsin. Although it remains to be seen if it will start or leave the bench, a 6-foot 6-inch goalkeeper with a defensive background, a capacity to distribute basketball and a 41% 3-point shooting clip is a transparent adjustment.

His offensive profile seems similar to that of Klesmit in many ways. While the Wisconsin offensive naturally distributes the ball throughout the programming, Klesmit was able to mark and contribute without designed touches. Rohde did the same in Virginia in 2024-25, with an average of 4.3 assists and 9.3 points out of only 7.8 attempts to shoot per game.
The Wisconsin has his top home scorer in Blackwell, assuming he withdraws from the NBA project. This transfer cycle is to find additional parts. Rohde adapts perfectly to this mold.
Recent questions of Wisconsin offensive resurgence

Wisconsin badgers five years ago would not have been an attractive destination for wings scorers. Johnny Davis was the first major breakthrough in 2021-2022, even before Gard reorganized the offensive approach to the program. The escape of AJ Storr in 2023-24, then mainly from Tonje in 2024-25, helped to change the story surrounding the program.

Now, the wing scorers consider badgers as a professional development destination, led by a great power offense in which any better player can excel. Rohde may be committed to his links in the state anyway. But when Wisconsin beats other high -level programs for talented wings and guards, credit the Gard program.
Wisconsin’s future transfer additions will be better previewed in the starting range 2025-26

Rohde’s commitment is not solid The Wisconsin 2025-26 alignment and rotation. Assuming that Blackwell renders, major needs still exist on the first five, plus in key bench roles. For the moment, it is logical to crayer Rohde in a position as a starting combo goalkeeper next to Blackwell. But do not be surprised if the Wisconsin landed several other contributors to this position, positioning it as the sixth man of the team.

Anyway, it is a strong start to the transfer cycle for badgers. Not that remaining questions exist, but Gard clearly controls the list and the team’s talent pipeline.
