Portland, Oregon. (AP) – Max Mackinnon scored 43 to equalize a school record for points in one match and Portland broke San Diego 92-82 Thursday evening.

Mackinnon has become the fifth player of the West Coast Conference to mark more than 43 years in a match in the last 10 seasons – and first since 2022.

Mackinnon went 7 out of 9 on a beach of 3 points and 18 out of 22 on the free throw line for the pilots (7-14, 2-6). Chris Austin scored 20 points. Austin Rapp pulled 6 for 17, 3 of which 3 for 11 beyond the arc to finish with 17 points, while adding eight rebounds.

Kody Clouet finished with 19 points for the bullfighters (4-17, 1-7). Tony Duckett added 14 points and Deven Dahlke finished with 10 points. The loss is the seventh consecutive for the bullfighters.

Mackinnon led Portland with 23 points in the first half to help them advance 42-37 at the break.

The two teams play on Saturday. Portland welcomes Gonzaga and San Diego plays San Francisco on the road.
