The Lakers continued their momentum Thursday night, lighting up the Bulls 142-130 at Crypto.com Arena. Luka Doncic stole the show by losing his first game by 50 points in a Lakers jersey. Fans also got to see LeBron James back in action after missing three games due to injury. That’s now four wins in a row for the Lakers, and with this one, they move up to third place in the Western Conference.

Luka Doncic and Austin revive the Fuel Lakers’ offensive explosion
The Lakers backcourt of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves just tore apart the Bulls defense. Doncic did just about everything he wanted by putting up 51 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists. He almost had a triple-double. And his shot? Scandalous. He stopped 17 of 31 shots, including nine from deep.

Reaves wasn’t just along for the ride. He scored 30 points, hitting 13 of his 20 shots. He even reached an important milestone by surpassing 5,000 career points with the Lakers. Put it all together, and those two guys scored 81 of the team’s 142 points. That kind of chemistry is not only fun to watch, but it’s what’s fueling the Lakers’ hot streak right now.
LeBron James returns: slow start, strong finish
LeBron James returned to the starting lineup after missing three games with a bruised right hip and arthritis in his left foot. He looked a little off in the first half with just three points, but something clicked in the third quarter. Suddenly he couldn’t miss it anymore. He made all five shots and finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in 33 minutes. Not bad for a 41.

DeAndre Ayton also gave the Lakers a huge boost. He notched his 20th double-double of the season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Rui Hachimura scored 15 points and the Lakers kept rolling. They shot 55.6% from the field, making it a blowout victory.
