LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan will step down next month after serving in the role since 2021, the LPGA Tour announced Monday.
Liz Moore, general secretary of the LPGA, will act as interim commissioner until a replacement is named.
“I am proud of the unprecedented growth that the LPGA has enjoyed since the start of my mandate,” said Marcoux Samaan, the ninth commissioner of the LPGA.
“The strategy we have developed for growth and impact, along with the infrastructure we have added to capitalize on the tremendous opportunities ahead, will serve the LPGA well for decades to come.”
Marcoux Samaan’s tenure included the LPGA’s greatest period of growth, including a 90 percent increase in prize money and record revenues, doubling for the top 100 players from just over 570 000 in 2021 to over a million dollars in 2024.
The women’s tour saw record attendance in 2024 and the LPGA Foundation increased the number of women and girls playing golf.
“I am confident that the LPGA is well-positioned for continued success as we build on the growth trajectory of Mollie’s last three and a half years of leadership,” said LPGA Board Chairman, John B. Veihmeyer.
