Thornton explains how, even though he grew up in a Louisville Basketball a fan and attending Manual High, he ended up playing at Vanderbilt and later at Xavier. He also gives an insight into what it was like as an assistant coach under Pat Kelsey, UofL coach during his first head coaching stop at Winthrop. Thornton then discusses his journey from player to coach to administrator.
