Tom Hiddleston is currently participating in a media screening for the second season of his Marvel show, Loki. At that race, he sat down with Jimmy Fallon and talked about playing against the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, in a charity match.

The interview began with the theme of Football aid match. The charity match organized in collaboration with UNICEF is an annual event where former players and celebrities come together to play a match and raise money for charity. Hiddleston shared his experience representing England in this match and marking Usain Bolt.

The Marvel actor commented on the peculiar situation: β€œIt’s kick-off and I was playing on the right wing defensive midfielder and I look up to see who I’m marking, and it’s the fastest man in the world. When you see the legs coming towards you, it’s like an express train.Β»

Jimmy Fallon then showed some photos from the match. Among these photos, one photo captured the moment when Tom Hiddleston beat Usain Bolt. The English actor admits the incident: β€œYeah, I like to think. I don’t know if it’s the angle, but in this photo I’m in front of him.” The crowd and Jimmy Fallon both applauded the fact that at least, in one photo, Hiddleston is ahead of Bolt.

The English actor then explained how privileged and exciting it was to face such a great icon of international sport. He concluded by stating: β€œYou know, I think I gave him some problems, because obviously he’s incredibly fast. So people just want to throw the ball to him, and he’ll put it in the back of the net. But I stayed true to him, you know, I held on.Β»

The English actor moved forward in the interview to discuss his show and how the season two finale of Loki comes full circle. He concluded the interview by answering fan theories about the series.

Tom Hiddleston and Usain Bolt raised $18 million for UNICEF

Coming back to the Soccer Aid event, the event was a huge success in its 2023 installment. The event raised around $18 million ($17.88 million) to help children in need around the world. The money raised for charity must have helped Tom Hiddleston heal from the pain of defeat in the match.

The England team came second in the event, losing to the rest of the world team by a score of 4-2. Despite the considerable efforts of the English actor, Usain Bolt was indeed registered on the match sheet when he passed the ball past David Jamesformer England international.

The charity event was first held in 2006 and has become an annual tradition since 2018. This time around, former players like Francesco Totti, HernΓ‘n Crespo, Nani and Roberto Carlos joined forces with celebrities such as Liam Payne, Tommy Fury, Stormzy, and Tom Hiddleston. The event was marked by many memorable moments that are still being discussed in pop culture months later.
