The current series of Leicester of eight games aimless at home is equal to that of Manchester City in May 2007. And with toppers at the table at the next visit, a new record could very well be established.
Van Nistelrooy is only the second manager in the history of the Premier League to lose eight successive home games in competition, after Daniel Farke in September 2021 with Norwich City.
“What is worrying is the series of forms, the lack of objectives, the lack of results we can produce,” he told Sky Sports.
“Trying different things, different structures, different players in different positions and the results are not there. It is the disturbing thing. It is a difficult night, especially in the shape of the form in which we are.
“It is important to analyze this, to sleep on it and to recover. That’s all for the moment. There are no questions, it deals with this reverse, another, and that is for the moment what I can say.”
Foxes defender James Justin said players have trouble confidence over the weeks.
“It is difficult to describe, to be honest, with how it was and it makes us feel horrible at the moment,” he said.
“It is difficult to find confidence. It’s a horrible moment for the club with the way we play on the field and try to regain all confidence.”
Although he is on a series of nine games, Leicester still has his status as an intact Premier League, but Justin did not give a lot of hope when put on the subject.
“There is still a chance for us and we have to fight and claw, but we do not show it on the ground,” he said.
