Kyle Larson & Co. set to honor late sprint car legend in two-day racing extravaganza

When a legend disappears, its memory never fades. This has been the case for countless deceased NASCAR drivers, team owners and other employees over the years. Their memories remain strong in the sport’s legacy, as do those of a particular sprint racing icon. It has been ten years since he left for his heavenly home. Yet Kyle Larson and Co. help keep his accomplishments fresh and alive.

Kyle Larson prepares tribute to lost friend

“It’s important to us that Bryan Clauson’s life and legacy are never forgotten. On May 8-9, we’re teaming up with @Driven2Save to continue to honor him and promote organ donation with a two-day High Limit race at BC’s favorite @KokomoSpeedway,” High Limit Racing on X recently posted.

The expanded two-day Bryan Clauson Hero Classic at Kokomo Speedway on May 8-9 will honor the life and legacy of dirt racing legend Bryan Clauson. The HLR event, under co-owners Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet, will not only pay tribute to Clauson’s extraordinary career. He was considered a gem in dirt racing history, having accumulated over 100 USAC victories and 10 USAC championships. In 2016, he also won a wingless sprint event at Kokomo Speedway – his favorite track.

It will also highlight the life-saving impact of organ donation. Bryan Clauson died in a midget car accident in Kansas and saved five lives through organ donation shortly after. This made him a powerful advocate for the cause, inspiring nearly 4,000 new organ donor registrations in the month following his death. So, Indiana Donor Network and Driven2SaveLives will honor organ donor heroes throughout the weekend.

In August 2016, the same month as Clauson, Kyle Larson scored his first NASCAR Cup Series victory in Michigan. At the wheel of the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing car, he won Brad Keselowski and Chase Elliott for the win. But instead of a big, self-centered celebration, Larson chose to dedicate his trophy to his fallen friend.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we lost Bryan,” said Tim Clauson, Bryan’s father. “Remembering Bryan and celebrating not only his decision to be a hero donor, but also celebrating 10 years of saving lives, through the Driven2SaveLives program, is special. Bryan’s sprint car career began at Kokomo Speedway. And this track has become home not only to Bryan but also to our family.”

He added, “We look forward to honoring and celebrating with the racing community. We welcome everyone to Bryan’s ‘place of worship’ for the inaugural Driven2SaveLives Bryan Clauson Hero Classic at Kokomo Speedway.”

Kyle Larson and Co. are gearing up for a weekend of memories and nostalgia. Meanwhile, the Cup Series star is also focused on upgrading his team.

Eager to work and earn more

Hendrick Motorsports vice president Thursday Jeff Gordon announced an elegant partnership. The 15-time Cup Series title team partners with Atrium Health. A new 35,000 square foot facility is expected to open on the HMS campus. The new Atrium Health Motorsports Center will be located on the team’s campus in Concord.

“The demands of NASCAR are unlike any other sport. The schedule is relentless, the margins are extremely tight and performance is as much about preparation as it is execution,” said Jeff Gordon. “This new facility allows our coaches and staff to work side-by-side with Atrium Health clinicians, ensuring all aspects of training, recovery and preparation are aligned. Everything about this space is designed around our athletes and teammates.”

Kyle Larson reposted Feff Gordon’s announcement, writing, “I’m canceling my gym membership now. »

The facility includes a “high-performance gym equipped with the latest training equipment, modern locker rooms, a team operations center for competition operations on race day, a nutrition zone, sports meeting and cinema rooms and dedicated areas for physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and recovery.” »

With this bright new start, Kyle Larson’s 2026 season is looking good. As he remembers his lost friend, let’s wait and see how the champion behaves.
