Trackhouse racing team Randall Burnett announced as a new crew chief of the rising star Connor Zilisch, who will go to Cup as a full -time driver in 2026.
Burnett will go behind Richard Childres Racingwhere he is currently working as a team leader for Kyle Busch and the Chevrolet n ° 8. Burnett has been with RCR since the 2020 season, winning four races with Tyler Reddick and three with Busch. He previously worked at JTG Daugherty Racing (now Hyak) with AJ Allmendinger.
However, the Busch / Burnett association has had trouble in the past two years, remaining without victory and missing the playoffs. He now goes from the most winning active driver in sports to a 19 -year -old phenomenon trying to make his mark.

Zilisch is 19 years old, but he has already been a huge success at the wheel. This year, he won nine races and could match the season’s victory record for the Nascar Xfinity series, which is owned by Busch.
In 2026, Zilisch will replace Daniel Suarez in Trackhouse, in competition as a teammate of Ross Chastain And Shane Van Gisbergen.
Zilisch made three cup starts earlier this year, finishing up to 11th in Atlanta.
RCR has not yet announced the replacement of Burnett at the top of the box n ° 8.
