KONAMI CELEBRATES THE 28TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOOTBALL GAMES SERIES

Users of all skill levels can enjoy a commemorative update packed with rewards, campaigns, and challenges.

29th June 2023 – Windsor – To celebrate many years of football video games, Konami Digital Entertainment BV can today announce the ’28th Anniversary celebration, which lasts between the 29th June – 27th July. This will include a series of various campaigns, giveaways and challenges that users can get the most out of!

28 years of KONAMI football game

December 22sd1995: Release of “Goal Storm”, the first KONAMI title that brings the world’s most popular sport into the virtual world.

Since then, the game has undergone a series of evolutions, both in terms of its mechanics and its brand image. KONAMI went from Goal Rush it to International Superstar Soccer (1997 – 2001), then to Pro Evolution Soccer (2001 – 2021), before making the bold step towards the current free-to-play title: “eFootball™”.

Cooperation returns with rewards!

After its Beta Test carried out between the 8th – 22sd June, Cooperative mode will be back on June 29th June, which means users can go online again and compete against other users around the world.

An in-game campaign related to co-op will begin on the 13thth July. Play a certain number of games and you will also receive rewards!

Campaign: challenges galore!

Throughout the celebration period, there will be a number of challenges that users can participate in and win some serious prizes.

The “Legend Challenge Event” will see users compete against the various champion clubs of the biggest European leagues, including SSC Napoli and FC Barcelona.

The “Golden Goal Challenge” event will see users compete against other users, but with the twist of playing for the Golden Goal – a classic football format from yesteryear!

Campaign: eFootball™ Festival

Users can claim a variety of rewards during the 4-week celebration period, including a mix of Epic Players, Show Time Contracts, a potential total of 440,000 GP, and up to 200 Coins.

The recent beta testing of cooperative mode has also diversified the game mode offerings for users, once again enhancing the “eFootball™” experience for players of varying preferences.
