A $25,000 prize pool awaits Xbox and mobile players to win their beloved Liga BBVA MX club in a game-changing tournament
In an exciting collaboration, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) and Liga BBVA MX are excited to announce the launch of eLiga BBVA MX, a tournament intended to captivate soccer fans residing in the United States and Mexico. Ahead of Phase 1 of the journey to eLiga BBVA MX Championship glory, potential participants are invited to download “eFootball™ 2024» for free on their Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or mobile gaming devices. In the game, players will build their own team using Dream Team mode, allowing them to select world-famous soccer talents to build their ultimate squad.
Phase 1 eLiga BBVA MX 1st Qualification: October 22 – 29
The first step towards the BBVA MX eLiga final starts from October 22 – 29 where players can put their skills to the test by participating in the Tour Event (eLiga BBVA MX 1st Qualifier)” using their newly created Dream Team. By simply participating and successfully completing the in-game event, players will advance to the Phase 2 Online Qualifiers.
Phase 2 eLiga BBVA MX 2nd qualification: November 3 – 6
After completing Phase 1 with their Dream Teams, participants will move on to online qualifiers. During Phase 2, players have the opportunity to choose one of 18 exclusive Liga BBVA MX clubs to represent in the competition. Thanks to these online qualifications, the highest ranked player from each of the 18 clubs, both on console and mobile, will have the honor of representing their respective teams during the group stage, for a total of 36 players.
BBVA MX eLiga group stage and elimination rounds: December 2 – 3
In a physical offline event, the 36 players will be brought to Mexico City where they will be divided into six groups of three teams and competed against each other based on their overall ranking, pot draw and platform. The top eight teams from each platform will advance to the round of 16 of the finals on December 3.
eLiga BBVA MX promises to be an exhilarating platform that blurs the lines between virtual football and the real world, creating an unprecedented gaming experience for football and gaming enthusiasts on both sides of the border.

Day of the Dead campaign
Celebrating the rich culture behind Dia de los Muertos – Day of the Dead, KONAMI has created special iconography tied to the tradition, including themed player cards, three as sign-in gifts on October 26, 29, and November 2 (collect the three by logging in before November 9) and two as rewards from tour events (one per week over a two-week period). During the two-week Tour Event, one event per week awaits you, with bonus points to be earned when you deploy Liga MX players. A special kit has been designed adorning the calacas and calveras associated with the tradition that all players can purchase in-game to use for their Dream team. Get ready for a football experience that celebrates skill, strategy and culture all in one!
