The champion of the Australian Open, Madison Keys, crashed from the Miami Open on Sunday, suffered a shock against the 19 -year -old Joker, Alexandra Eala.

Mirra Andreeva, 17 Russian, leaving the consecutive victories of WTA 1000 in Dubai and Indian Wells, also left the third round, his sequence of 13 match games ending with a defeat of three sets against American Amanda Anisimova.

The victory 6-4, 6-2 for Eala during the fifth seeded American Keys invented him to kiss his team and to celebrate passionately after she became the first woman of the Philippines to beat an opponent among the first 10 since the classification system was created in 1975.

Eala, the champion of girls of the US Open 2022 girls who is based at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca since she was 13 years old, will now take the Spanish Paula Badosa for a place in the quarterfinals.

“Growing up, it was difficult,” she said. “You had no one where you come from to open the way. Of course, you had a lot of people to admire around the world, but I think – I hope it will bring Philippin tennis to the next stage,” Eala said in her interview on the field.

Keys, who was seriously beaten by Aryna Sabalenka in the Indian semifinals of Wells, conceded that she was well below her best form.

“My service was not really there today and I just felt a little flat – and when you play someone who is a ton of balls and absorbs very well, it’s not really the keys to success,” said the American.

Andreeva, the 11th seed, hoped to continue to increase the classification with a strong performance in Miami, but seemed to be hampered by an injury when she lost against the 17th seeded, a resident of Miami, Anisimova.

Andreeva received long medical care in her abdominal zone when it is 2-1 in the first set, which she lost 7-6 (7/5).

She rebounded, dominating the second set 6-2, but Anisimova won the third set of the battle of 2 hours and 49 minutes 6-3.

Anisimova will face Emma Raducanu in the fourth round, after the British player advanced when his American opponent McCartney Kessler retired in the second series of their meeting.

IGA Swiatek overcome an Elise Mertens determined to ensure a 7-6 victory (7/2), 6-1 and to take her place in the last 16 in a WTA 1000 tournament for a record event of 25th consecutive.

Swiatek, second seeded, has not lost before the last 16 at this level since Cincinnati 2021.

The post was 5-2 in the first set, but Mertens retaliated to do so 5-5 before Swiatek could regain his domination during the equality break.

– Patience is chargeable –

Swiatek did not look back from that moment, doing a short work in the second set when his difficulties in serving have improved.

In the male draw, Novak Djokovic broke the record for most of the victories of the ATP Masters 1000 match with its 6-1 7-6 victory (7/1) against Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli.

The Serbian 411st victory at this level makes him pass the previous record set by Nadal.

Belgian veteran David Goffin, who eliminated Carlos Alcaraz’s world number three in the previous round, came across the American Brandon Nakashima, which won 6-3 6-7 (5/7) 6-3.

Stefanos Tsisipas, in Greece, who won his first title in more than a last year in Dubai, fell to the 24th American row Sebastian Korda 7-6 (7/4), 6-3.

“It’s great. I was born in Florida. All my family is there. It’s just very fun to play here and get my first victory in the 10 top 10,” said Korda.

“I tried to serve well, I tried to come to the net when I could, and I’m just satisfied with my performance today,” he said.

Grigor Dimitrov in Bulgaria fought with a 6-7 victory (3/7), 6-4, 7-5 against Karen Khachanov in a competition in which the base dominated predictably.

The 33 -year -old victory won more than two hours and 38 minutes, made Dimitrov the fourth active player to count 100 Masters 1000 victories on the field harshly.

“It’s great. Last year, I think I won 100 victories inside, now that. It’s beautiful, I think that every time you take such a step,” said Dimitrov.

“We know ourselves very well, we train a lot, so there were not really secrets. In the end, this was summed up in a few points.”

The 38-year-old Frenchman Gael Monfils delighted his supporters by beating the Spaniard Jaume Munar 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (7/1)
