Pogba tested positive for high testosterone levels due to a supplement allegedly prescribed by a doctor Pogba is friends with in the United States, and it is believed that Pogba did not know he was taking a banned substanceHe could now be banned for up to four years if found guilty of violating anti-doping rules, but also for up to two years if found guilty of unknowingly consuming the banned substance. At the same time, it will be crucial to understand what Juventus will do with him, as he has signed a contract upon his return to the club in the summer of 2022, running until 2026, worth around €10 million net per season.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri commented on the matter during the pre-match press conference of the The Derby della Mole match against Turin that the Bianconeri will play on Saturday.
“We’re waiting for the rest, there’s no point in commenting now. Humanly, I’m sorry,” he said.
The Morning Footy team analysed the situation on Friday morning:
The Bianconeri are rumoured to be looking to terminate his contract this summer as the club would save around €30m. It will be a hot topic for the club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who joined the Italian giants in the summer after winning the Scudetto with Naples last season.
Pogba, 30, who was the world’s most expensive transfer when he left Juve for Manchester United in 2016, joined Juve in 2022 but has since made just 11 appearances due to a series of injuries. His time at the club could end sooner than expected.
