Real Madrid are already considering their summer plans, just days after appointing Alvaro Arbeloa to the role. It appears the former Castilla boss is currently being considered as an interim option.
When asked about it, Arbeloa said he would be there as long as Real Madrid wanted him, but could not give a decisive answer. The next day it was reported that Los Blancos were looking for managers to take over this summersuggesting that they do not view Arbeloa as a permanent solution. That said, it makes sense for Real Madrid to evaluate their options after firing Alonso.

One name linked to Real Madrid before Xabi Alonso’s appointment is Jurgen Klopp. The former Liverpool manager retired from coaching after leaving Anfield and is currently head of football at Red Bull. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports DE has reported that Klopp is “seriously considering” returning to training if Real Madrid make a serious move for him.
Plettenberg goes on to say he is happy at Red Bull, but Real Madrid has “always fascinated” Klopp. It’s one of two jobs he would consider coming out of retirement for alongside the German national team, provided everything is to his liking.

Klopp’s comments on Xabi Alonso dismissal
Klopp commented after Alonso’s dismissal that the links with him had “nothing to do with me”, downplaying the idea that he could be heading to the Bernabeu. His agent has also repeatedly dismissed Real Madrid’s comments over the past year. The German coach also noted that Alonso’s departure was a sign that “all is not well” at Real Madrid.
This could be a decisive point if the two sides enter into negotiations. Plettenberg notes that “everything has to fit” for Klopp, and Real Madrid demand that managers comply. The current situation, however, could persuade Los Blancos to adopt a more compromising attitude.
