While Alcaraz is a very popular Grand Slam winner and received many messages of support following his historic feat, it seems that not everyone is happy with it.

Just days after winning his seventh major title, Alcaraz’s former coach Ferrero unfollowed him on Instagram.

Ferrero also abandoned Alcaraz’s strength and conditioning trainers, but he continues to follow his current trainer Lopez.

Tennis Fans Think They Know Why Juan Carlos Ferrero Ditched Carlos Alcaraz

It’s currently unclear what the real reason behind Ferrero’s decision to cut ties with his former player on Instagram is, but tennis fans seem to have a theory.

That of Rafael Nadal former coach and uncle Toni Nadal criticized Alcaraz since winning the Australian Open, notably for not mentioning it in his post-match speech.

“It bothered me, you can’t forget the work of Juan Carlos all these years,” Toni Nadal said. Radio Stadium. “I wouldn’t have liked it if, when I left Rafa, he had acted like this with (Carlos) Moya.”

After Ferrero unfollowed Alcaraz on social media, one tennis fan wondered if that was why he did that.

However, most tennis fans seemed to think it was the latter, with Ferrero not yet ready to see Alcaraz’s success without him.

One person said: “I thought maybe this was too painful for Juan Carlos to watch. You know you can always be really happy for someone but it hurts too much to see this happen without you being a part of it. This is just my opinion and of course I could be wrong for sure!”

Another added: “Probably too painful to watch I guess.” »

For now, Ferrero actually ventured into golf and there appears to be no sign of a reunion with Alcaraz.

Alcaraz is expected to continue with Lopez as head coach, with his next tournament scheduled at the Qatar Open.
