Jon Rahm says he doesn’t want to ‘waste time’ thinking about PGA Tour deal with Saudi Arabian backers LIVGolf.
Rahm heads towards the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands as one of the tournament favorites, even though he hasn’t played here in more than three years.
This is a designated event, which means there is a bumper purse of $20 million. These events were created to try to persuade the circuit’s biggest stars to make the step up to their main rival in 2022.
The prospect of LIV Golf players one day returning to the PGA Tour is now a very real possibility, given the shocking news that broke ahead of the 2023 US Open, shaking up the game once again.
PGA Tour boss Jay Monahan announced a deal to align the business interests of the Saudi Wealth Fund, PIF, DP World Tour and PGA Tour.
This prompted Rory McIlroy claim he was the sacrificial lamb of the tour, for all intents and purposes he and other devotees PGA Tour the stars were essentially exhausted by Monahan.

According to a LIV official, a compensation fund will be created to compensate for those who rejected their bewildering LIV Offers.
Monahan has now taken time off from his daily duties due to an unknown medical issue.
General manager under fire recognized his hypocrisy in a tense players’ meeting before the Canadian Open.
Another meeting was planned in front of the Travelers, which Rahm confirmed he would attend.
“I didn’t really talk about it much last week.” Rahm told the media on June 20. “And I guess I might know more in a few hours, once we’re done with tonight’s players meeting.”
He added:
“I don’t think we’ll get many answers, but I’ll at least get an idea of the membership manager’s situation. That’s all I can say. We don’t know anything. I don’t know if the Those responsible know much more than us.
“There are so many unanswered questions that at this point I wouldn’t want to waste time thinking about it because there are a lot of what-ifs and unknowns.”
Naturally, Rahm wants to focus more on his golf.
He falls into the category of Travelers in pursuit of history. Rahm currently leads the FedExCup with four victories this season, including the 87th Masters.
With a win this week, Rahm would become the first player to win five times in a season since Justin Thomas in 2016-17.
