Following his record move to LIV Golf, Jon Rahm’s debut on the breakaway tour is fast approaching, but the Masters champion is yet to confirm his four-man squad.
Jon Rahm has not yet confirmed its LIVGolf team and teammates for the 2024 season, with the opening event in Mayakoba, Mexico, just a month away.
Rahm made golf history last month, £450m deal signed to join the Saudi-backed series. As part of his departure from the PGA Tour, it was announced that Rahm would have the chance to form and manage his own team while competing on the LIV setup.
Three weeks after his move, golf fans still don’t know what Rahm’s team will look like, which could well worry the Spanish star heading into the opening event of the year.

If Rahm is to announce his new franchise closer to the opening match in Mexico, the LIV roster will increase from 48 players to 52, with 13 teams competing instead of 12. Although that doesn’t seem too complicated. On the surface, this drastic change could well pose real logistical problems for league leaders.
Going from 48 players to 52 will have an effect on the starting format of the three-ball circuit, as well as how prize money will be distributed. An additional team could well have its advantages, however, giving the breakaway league a chance to add four players to its squad.
Following Rahm’s groundbreaking decision last month, LIV CEO Greg Normand revealed that a number of PGA Tour and DP World Tour stars are interested in following in the Masters champion’s footsteps. “I’ll be honest, since Jon signed, I know he’s been inundated with players saying, ‘I want to play on your team, Jon. Speaking after his signing was announced in December, he said: “The team aspect is absolutely essential. Having grown up as a football fan, in Spain the teams are the important part. I was part of the Spanish national team for many years and more recently ASU.
“I’ve been on a golf team for most of my career. This opportunity has brought back a lot of those feelings. I’m looking forward to building a team of four strong players. It’s a beautiful feeling we feel “I don’t often get the opportunity to play golf. That’s one of the biggest motivators for me.”
