Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has highlighted an issue with his side’s win over Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon.
Pule Mmodi’s fine second-half finish guided the Soweto giants to a 1-0 victory at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
For the second game in a row, Johnson was unhappy with how the team was unable to maintain possession against Rise and Shine.

“What a football game, I think my team defended well, yes we scored the goal but we had to fight to get it. I don’t think they had any clear chances but they gave us all the threatened times with the long ball,” Johnson said. told SuperSport after the match.
“That’s what this team is about, they play the long ball and the second ball.”
We don’t clear the long ball correctly, they can come from behind and it’s certain that they gave us a lot of problems because in many moments we weren’t able to play our game, where we are calmer with the ball.
“I also thought we gave the ball away too easily when we had the ball. Our central defender, our left back, our right back tried to pass the champagne when we should have kept the ball.
“Keep the ball a little longer, the spaces will open up but saying that, if we win the match, we come away with three points and we are happy with that,” he said.
Chiefs will have to wait a few more weeks for their next championship clash against Richards Bay on December 23.
