2009 Formula 1 Champion Jenson Button is set to make its Goodwood Members’ Assembly debut at the 83rd edition of the event next year.
The Briton will reunite with his championship-winning car, the Brawn BGP 001, which he last drove in 2019 to mark the 10th anniversary of his drivers’ title victory.

Button’s appearance at the Goodwood members’ meeting follows his retirement from professional motor racing. Having retired from F1 at the end of the 2017 season, the 45-year-old has since raced in Super GT, British GT, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the NASCAR Cup and the World Endurance Championship. He stepped away from the driver’s seat at the end of the 2025 WEC season to spend more time with his family.
āIām delighted to make my debut at the Membersā Assembly, and in a car no less special than the Brawn BGP 001,ā said the former F1 driver. āI had the opportunity to drive it for the last time in 2019, which was incredibly emotional and quite surreal. I canāt wait to experience that feeling again, and what better way than Goodwood!ā

The Duke of Richmond CBE DL said: āI look forward to seeing Jenson again behind the wheel of the legendary Brawn BGP 001 at the 83rd Membersā Meeting. Seeing and hearing a modern Formula 1 car at speed around the Goodwood Motor Circuit is always a treat – a tantalizing glimpse of what could have been had the circuit not been closed in 1966.

āAnd this time will be even more special, as we reflect on the career of one of Britain’s most popular world champions and the unique success of Team Brawn during that incredible 2009 season.
“Jenson has been a loyal supporter of everything we do at Goodwood since he entered F1 almost 26 years ago, although remarkably this will be the first time he has driven the Brawn here. It will truly be an ‘I was there’ moment and the best possible way to celebrate the end of Jenson’s professional racing career.”
