It was a long trip to the big leagues to JC Escarrabut Yankees director Aaron Boone Officially informed the 29-year-old that he fell in love with the team’s opening day on Saturday afternoon.
The skipper called Esmarra in his office and joked with him that he was sent back to minors – before telling him that he “deserved this opportunity” to go north with the club.
“What a trip,” Boone told Esmarra. “It’s just starting again. Now we have real things to continue. You have won well – we have a lot of good people in this room that you have gained the right to be here and to be this guy. ”
Esmarra will serve as a New York rescue receiver behind Austin WellsAnd he certainly looked at the game.
After another strong day on the plate during the spring defeat on Saturday against the Phillies, the slugger now reaches .333 with two doubles, three circuits, eight products produced and one .936 OPS on 48 At-Bats.
