It is a blow to start the season for a Memphis team who must prove that she can make noise in a Deep Western conference.
Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey – the team’s striker and departure center – as well as the Brandon Clarke rescue center will all miss the training camp and the start of the season recovering surgeries, the team announced on Friday.
All-Star last season and former defensive player of the year, Jackson underwent surgery to help facing an injury to the lawn of the lawn in July. Last season, he had an average of 22.2 points per game, pulling 37.5% beyond the arc, while playing Elite Defense. Due to his double -meaning game as well as JA more in and out of alignment in recent seasons, Jackson has become the best player in the grizzly greeks and losing it is a blow. Santi Aldama will move in the departure formation in his place.
Edey did the first All-Rookie team last season, with an average of 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while blocking 1.3 shots per night.
Clarke recovered from the knee sprain which slowed it down at the end of last season but now suffers from a synovitis of the right knee – an inflammation of the synovial membrane which surrounds and helps to lubricate the knee – and which required its knee. Although there is no calendar on Clarke’s return, it will be reassessed in six weeks, Shams Charania reports of ESPN. This probably pushes his return in November.
All of these injuries in the front area will put much more pressure on JA more to keep the grizzly gruff to start the season until everyone is healthy. In a west with a minimum of 13 teams thinking of the playoffs, it will be a large demand.
