Williams — who was selected 10th overall by the Utah Jazz in the NBA Project Wednesday night — had to explain the process behind his elaborate handshake because he didn’t like the way it happened two years earlier when the Thunder drafted his brother, Jalen12th overall.

This time, they pulled it off at the Barclays Center.

“Two years ago, we missed our shot,” Cody Williams told reporters in Brooklyn, New York. “We practiced for a few days, maybe a week, to get to this point, to make sure we could do it. Add a little flair. So we caught up.”

While OKC will miss a Brother Williams Fans can now look forward to all the Thunder-Jazz division games and fun handshakes.

The NBA schedule is almost two months away, but Cody Williams is already looking forward to facing his big brother.

“We’re going to talk like crazy during this game,” Cody Williams said. “I’ll tell you right now. This is something we’ve dreamed of. When we were kids, we never really got to play against each other or with each other on the same team, just because of the age difference.

“So I think being able to do that right now is definitely a dream come true. I’m going to make sure I’m right there with him when we play them. Make sure you tell Will to put me on (Jalen Williams). That’s the game plan.”
