BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football landed a commitment from Tulane wide receiver Shazz Preston on Monday afternoon, according to his Instagram account.

“Let’s Make It Hoosier Nation,” Preston posted alongside a photo of him wearing UI gear.

The addition of Preston, who was Tulane’s leading receiver in every major statistical category, gives the No. 1 Hoosiers (15-0) several high-profile additions at the position after landing an upfront commitment from former Michigan State receiver Nick Marsh.

Indiana will lose at least two key players in the rotation, with Elijah Sarratt and EJ Williams Jr. exhausting their eligibility and Omar Cooper Jr. could leave early for the NFL.

Preston had 43 receptions for 723 yards with four touchdowns in a breakout season for the Green wave. The former Alabama signee was targeted just six times in his first three seasons in college.

He was a consensus 4-star recruit out of St. James High School (La.) in the 2022 signing class. He was the No. 56 overall player, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, and received 20 scholarship offers from the likes of USC, Texas, LSU and Georgia.

Preston finished the season with an impressive performance in the first round of the CFP with five catches for 125 yards with a touchdown against Ole Mademoiselle playing against coach Pete Golding, who recruited him to Alabama.
